Yeng is the Winner!
Just as the show promised 4 months ago, a dream was fulfilled last night. And, it's Yeng's. She garnered 37% of the votes to beat 5 other co-scholars.Jay-R got the 2nd place with 32% and Ronnie have 27%.
Bright future lies ahead of Yeng. Sa loob pa lang ng Pinoy Dream Academy, hitmaker na with her song "Hawak-Kamay." Good luck to her! Just like what Lea Salonga said, the real job begins after winning the PDA. It's really easy to be famous, but staying there will be difficult.
Good Luck to you Yeng. Wag lalaki ang ulo. Always follow your instincts. I hope you'd make the right decisions.

Congrats anyway!I just noticed in the last 3 finalists by the time Yeng started her song the manner of text votes for Yeng was already posted & it stayed there until the end of the song. I was about to vote for Jay-R however I was waiting for the code to type on my unit. The instruction to vote for him was displayed about halfway through his song & it disappered before the song ends. When it's Ronnie's turn to sing they post the text vote instruction after a few minutes then went on for a long time. Don't you think this is quite unfair for Jay-R? Though I voted for Jay-R the confirmation arrived several minutes after the show ended. But I sent that vote after seeing that instruction on TV. How come I sensed something not right that night? I smell this is just a fixed game anyway.

As expected, Yeng's emerges the winner of the race through text votes. Performance wise last night, I still have to go for Panky, Jay-R and Chad. Yeng is very beautiful last night and she also deserves to be the winner. To all the 6 Honor List, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU. You did a great JOB last night. It was a Fantastic and wonderful performances of you guys. I admired the idea of the outcome of the whole show. Walang kaek-ekan ng ibang artista. Exclusively lang talaga sa PDA scholars and faculties. Good job also for the D'Company on their rendition of Jay-R song "HILOT". Hanep ang pagkadeliver kahit di kayo mga Bisaya. For me the show is great SUCCESS and it's not boring. Panky's performance is superb. Chad's song is very soothing to one's souls.
To all the 20 SCHOLARS OF PDA, may your stars continue to shine in the avenues where you are in.
Hope one day, dream scholar bond will emerge that will be composed of YVAN, PANKY, DAVEY, JAY-R, EMMAN, CHAD, RONNIE, YENG, JOAN, AND IYA
Why am I not surprised!! I'm proud of Yeng! She deserved to win. She has the most talent, star quaality and drive! I just noticed that all the "neediest" people won.Ronnie and JayR had one of the saddest stories told, esp. Ronnie. I started to cry when I heard his sad plight. Lalo na siguro if Rosita was up there, but her feeling sorry for herself was a bit too much. I still thought Panky also needs to be up there. Calling all producers and directors!! Please give Panky a chance. I would like to see her again and again. Admit it. She has changed a lot. That girl can SING and ACT!! Chad and Irish are probably not that hard up. I'm sure they can find people who would take them in their wings.

it's over! Yeng won the crown, i knew it already before, isn't it ovious, but she really deserves it, right? I'm not really an avid fan of her's, but her compositions are really nice! I hope she may compose a lot of beautiful songs now that really is a star! I mean all of them are stars! Jay-r and Ronnie also deserved their spots, especially because they need it. For panky, irish and chad, they're also talented. Especially IRISH (just want to notice that i'm an IRISHolics), I know that 'a lot' will be offering her in show-business, why?- she has the looks, the talents, and the attitudes,,,

Yeng won because of her song " hawak kamay". The 2nd voting was really unfair for Jay-R and Ronnie. It's right, there's a fixed game then.
yeah right..we knew it even before the grand dream night (or yeng's dream night, as we call it)that yeng would be the grand star dreamer. we believe that she has the talent, not only in singing but in composing as well. BUT,we feel very disappointed with the show because we can see as we watch the show every night, that there are scholars who are better than yeng. a LOT MORE BETTER than her. so sad they werent able to make it t the finals. what else cud we expect anyway, when the scholars' fate was left solely to the voters. and obviously, the voting wasnt based on the talent, it was based on the popularity and looks. esssential din naman yon for a performer, pero common, hindi naman to SCQ di ba?

Congratulations to YENG!!! Whatever negative comments others would say, they can't deny the fact that she is one talented person with charisma...she's also unique compared to other champions ABS-CBN produced who were all belter! Yeng is not a belter, but could sing and compose songs...all your fans are happy for you...YOU ARE A STAND OUT!

I'm not a relative or friend of Jay-r and Ronnie but I want to thank those people who voted for them kasi gusto ko talaga na makapasok sila sa top 3. Kahit wala sa kanilang dalawa ang naging grand star dreamer pero okay na rin. Masarap kasi ang feeling na makita sa TV na masaya ang parents nina Ronnie at Jay-ar. Halos alam naman siguro ng lahat that they'r not mayaman gaya ng ibang scholars kaya malaking tulong siguro para sa family nila ang cash prize na kanilang natanggap. Salamat sa mga sumuporta. Mabuhay ang mga matulunging pinoy! Dumami pa sana ang mga kagaya niyo.. Maligayang pasko sa inyong lahat.

Wala akong talent sa pagcompose at pagkanta so I really admire those people na magaling sa aspects na ito. Pero sorry nalang sa mga fans ni Yeng kasi kahit marunong siyang magcompose at kumanta di ko talaga siya magustuhan. If ako lang kasi ang gagawa ng decision si YVAN ang pipiliin kong maging grand star dreamer. Maganda ang boses niya at di nakakasawang pakinggan lalo na ng kinanta niya ang song na Say You'll Never Go as in feel na feel ko rin yong song. I was disappointed when I found out that YVAN was expelled (di ko ksi napanood 'yon kasi may bagyo dito sa amin kaya brownout). I was glad ng nakapasok si Jay-r sa top 3 kasi napray ako na hindi si Yeng ang manalo at sana si Jay-r nalang. Pag manalo kasi si Yeng I had this feeling na magiging mainstay na siya sa ASAP at ayoko talaga siyang panoorin kasama sina sarah geronimo. I don't know pero nayayabangan lang talaga ako kay Yeng kaya ayokong tingnan ang screen ng TV pag siya ang kumakanta. oPinion ko lang to so kung di kayo agree sorry nalang po. Anyways panalo naman si Yeng so magsaya nalang kayo na mga fans niya. I just wish na hindi siya totoong mayabang.

congrats to yeng as the 1st pinoy dream academy grand winner. at the start of the reality show i already sense that she could win the grand title. i know that she desrves it, her songs are easily to sing with and the melody is very beautiful and touches the every life of her audience or listener.

Why would other people think Yeng isnt deserving to be the winner? come on people, dont be so insensitive...We have all the right to give our opinions kung sino ang gusto natin, but thats all we can do. THE PEOPLE HAD JUDGED YENG TO BE THE 1ST GRAND STAR DREAMER. wala na tayong magagawa dun. I personally like her. Not even Sarah or Rachel or sino pamang newest singing sensations ngayon ang kayang magpasikat ng kanta sila ang nagxcompose in just a matter of 4 months. But Yeng did it. And People recognized it. i totally agree. si yeng was unfairly put at an advantage over the other scholars. kasi pinromote ng husto ang hawak kamay, nauna nang sumikat kaysa sa kanya. di pa man natapos ang pda at nakadeclare ng winner - pinagtutugtog na sa ere ang hawak kamay na nakakasawa na. sakit sa tenga. tapos ang ganda pa ng damit nung finals -masyadong halata na sya ang gagawing winner sa gabing yun.
sa akin si ronnie ang pinakanagimprove, pinakamabait, maagang nagigising, nagluluto pa kalalaking tao. hindi nakikipag-away. matiyagang nagsusumikap pagandahin ang performance at sundin ang mga payo ng teachers.

Yong "hawak kamay" nga ni yeng tunog hangin un ibang lines, ewan ko kung anong nagustuhan don ng tao pero there is a better way to cing it & that grand night, oh no! Why & what did she mumble during the time when the grand winner was about to be announced? Hmp, parang expected naman na nya un.Mi pasuntok pa sya sa taas na parang Pacquiao sya, ang yabang talaga ng dating. Nde pa naman sya gnun kasikat. OA talaga, they way she sang "Ang Awitin" there could be another way to perform that better rather than belching out at the top of her lungs, it's too much,I'm not impressed. As I followed the last part of PDA where Ms. Kitchie Molina were coaching them I guess Yeng wasn't able to absorb what was taught of her. She still used the same technique the way she started in PDA. I was expecting more from Yeng, but peraps with more practice she will still improve. I saw improvements in Ronnie's performance of "Nais Ko", that was nice but with constant training that could have been made superb in time. Jay-R also showed high level of performance. Panky's singing was so right for the occasion as well as the venue, a worldclass talent, even if she didn't make it to the top 3 she still gave her best performance. I even admired Chad's "Love Story" it has a different twist. Nice try for experimenting, he also showed versatility. Too bad for Irish that night, that song could have been made better if she had not gone flat in some parts. Maybe the emotion of disappointment got her down & that showed off on her final performance. But all I can say overall it was a so-so dream night, not so grand but not so ordinary. Probably the outcome just didn't create suspense 'coz of the outcome of the winner.

I agree on music critic observations. To the comments posted by #35 and #36, you demonstrated barbarism. You are idiots as music never flows in your system. It's really true that the performance of Yeng that night was just a so-so performance compared to Panky, Jay-R and even to Chad who really stood out at that night. If and when it's not for the text votes that sentence Yeng to VICTORY, I guess she would land only as 3rd placer if performances and quality of voice are the criteria in choosing for the winner. Since they have their own rules, let us respect as well that YENG emerged as the winner.

Laarni Lozada even failed to impress the audience when she sang last September 12, 2008… this is so dissapointing… this reality talent show…. is nothing but only for earning high ratings rather real skills and talents.. having only based the text votes as their basis of whom the grand dreamer is… makes Pinoy Dream Academy judges as nothing but as a display… BUGOY DRILON WORK HARD!!! AND HE SHOULD BE THE GRAND STAR DREAMER!!! I MUST SAY THE JUDGES MUST HAVE A SAY!!!! MAKE THINGS RIGHT ABS-CBN!!!
